Tofu Morals
Today I have learned a very important life lesson and from the strangest of things: tofu.
It all started at the local Thai club, where we were cooking red coconut curry, my favorite! I had gotten there early, as usual, to help Professor Seraphin prepare the food.
Along the course of events I was asked if I liked tofu, and I responded of course it’s great. And then I was offered a piece.

Suddenly I was in a predicament. You see, I explained, tofu is amazing. It has the strange and wonderful ability to take on the flavor of whatever it’s in. In curry it tastes like curry, in pad thai it tastes like pad thai, and in tofu chocolate vegan cake, tofu even tastes like chocolate cake to the unsuspecting snacker.
Professor Seraphin looked me in the eye and scolded me: You expect people to like you for who you are, without being judged on what color you are and how you are dressed. You should like the tofu for what it is not for what you can hide it in!
So now I must integrate into my life a whole new standard for how I perceive the world. That’s tofu morals.
